Important Message: Winter Storm Watch

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for the western Carolinas from this Saturday morning through Monday morning, it is forecasted that a heavy mix precipitation is possible, including snow, sleet and ice. Snow and Sleet accumulation could range from 1 to 6 inches, with ice accumulation between .40 to 1 inch. With these conditions the area may experience power outages, hazardous road conditions and down trees. Stay at home if possible.

For non-emergency assistance, downed trees or limbs in the roadway, contact Rutherford County Communications Center at 828-286-2911.
Bostic electric customers experiencing an outage or down power lines report to 828-245-0149.
For Bostic Garbage customers trash will be picked up at regular time on Saturday, January 24, 2026. If weather conditions do not permit pickup any changes will be on the town’s webpage and Facebook page, in addition an alert will be sent out.
Once the Town Clerk is made aware of any outages an alert will be sent out, and notification posted on the town’s webpage and Facebook page. Updates will be provided of expected recovery time as they are received.
During the storm the Town Clerk will be available to take calls at 828-624-2248. In the event cell service goes out, updates will be posted at the town hall each day by 3:00 pm if it is safe for staff to get out.
