BOSTIC VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT IMPROVES ISO RATING

The Town of Bostic congratulates the dedicated volunteer firefighters, Chiefs and fire district board for their hard work and dedication put forth to improve response capabilities.  The hard work and dedication have resulted in an improved ISO rating.

On October 11, 2022, Bostic Volunteer Fire Department underwent an inspection by the State Fire Marshal Office and ISO.  A fire department’s rating affects homeowners’ and business insurance premiums and helps signal how prepared firefighters are at responding to calls and battle blazes in their fire districts.

We are proud to announce that the ISO rating for Bostic District improved from a 6 to 5 and Bostic Rural improved from 6/9E to 5/9E; the lower the number the better the rating.  This rating goes into effect April 1, 2023.  OSFM Release

Residential and commercial insurance policies may be eligible for potential rate reductions due to the improvement in rating.  The Office of State Fire Marshall has notified the North Carolina Rate Bureau.  You will need to contact your insurance agent regarding any rate changes.

If you see a Bostic Firefighter out, take time to thank them for their dedication and commitment in keeping the community safe.  The firefighters are volunteers who have missed meals with family, a kids special event, or a sleepless night before going to their fulltime jobs.

THANK YOU BOSTIC VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS!!!
