Water Outage Update

Update on water outage from the Town of Forest City.
Today's water outage occurred due to a broken water line that runs under the Second Broad River on Highway 74 Business. The water line was damaged due to increased water flow as a result of this week's heavy rainfall.
Engineers and Town staff have developed a temporary plan to restore water to our customers until a permanent repair can be made. Approximately 3,000 customers have been affected by the water outage. We estimate that the temporary repai...r will be completed and water service restored by Sunday, February 9th. We will post updates as they become available.
The precautionary boil water advisory remains in effect.
You can continue to use tap water for bathing, showering, washing dishes and clothes during a boil water advisory, as long as you take precautions that no one drinks it. Toddlers and young children are most at risk of accidental ingestion during bathing so please watch them carefully.
Those in the Ellenboro, Bostic, Concord and Sunshine areas should be conservative with their water usage.
